Green Grid: Electricity Independence for Homes, Vehicles, & Communities
Join green energy advocates Luke Hinkle and Chris Powicki and learn about their vision for a greener power grid for Cape Cod.
Saturday, May 10, 2 p.m.
at Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary
FREE with sanctuary admission
Are you ready to act to reshape the future of energy on Cape Cod and address climate change? Luke Hinkle (My Generation Energy, Inc.) and Chris Powicki (WEEinfo Services) have a bold, optimistic vision and specific recommendations for re-engineering our energy system and modifying collective behaviors quickly and deeply enough to effect significant near-term cuts in the Cape's carbon dioxide emissions and a long-term sustainable energy future.
In this presentation, Luke and Chris will help you identify how you can get involved in modernizing the grid, making green power affordable and available to all, and fueling the regional energy transition. Drawing on early lessons from Energiewinde, Germany's accelerated shift to renewable energy, they also will introduce the technological elements of a green grid for Cape Cod and the islands - solar power, smart inverters, grid-interactive heating and cooling, offshore wind, plug-in vehicles, and other energy storage options - that will promote reliability and balance while stabilizing costs, creating jobs, and decarbonizing communities.
This program is FREE with admission to the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary (free for Mass Audubon members, $5 for non-members, $3 for seniors ages 65+).
