*Family Science Night*
*Deep Sea Exploration: Life Without Sunlight*
*Thursday, March 20, 5:30 - 7:30 PM*
What kinds of creatures live on the cold, dark ocean bottom? Come in and
see what the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution is discovering about the
Deep Sea.
Dr. Stefan Sievert, Chief Scientist, will place a call to the research
vessel *Atlantis*, working in the Gulf of Mexico, to speak with Dr. Dorsey
Wanless, Geology and Geophysics Postdoctoral Fellow, on the first
expedition with the new *Alvin

*submersible. Our own Explorer in residence, Rhonda Moniz, will be here to
talk about Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV's).
This Free Family Science Night is the perfect opportunity to discover the
marine scientist in yourself! There will be hands-on activities for all
ages as well as special presentations on Science on a Sphere®.
Free Family Science Night is funded by the National Science Foundation.
The Ocean Explorium is working with the Woods Hole Oceanographic
Institution to bring their research to the community.
The Science on a Sphere® is generously provided through a partnership with
the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
