Upcoming Public Meetings on Offshore Wind and Transmission



On June 23 and 24, the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs
(EEA) and the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) will host
officials from the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) for two public
meeting regarding the commercial offshore renewable wind energy leasing
process on the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) offshore Massachusetts. The
purpose of the meetings is to explain the next steps in BOEM$B!G(Bs commercial
leasing process for the Massachusetts Wind Energy Area and provide the
public and stakeholders with additional opportunities to provide input.
Additionally, EEA and MassCEC will provide updates on the findings of a
transmission study and next steps in planning and siting as part of the
update to the Massachusetts Ocean Management Plan.
