NECWA INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
New England Coastal Wildlife Alliance
Re: Marine Wildlife Internship Program:
The New England Coastal Wildlife Alliance (NECWA) is seeking qualified high school, college and graduate students within the New England community to assist with various projects and activities through our Marine Wildlife Research Program. Internship positions are non-paid, with interns working alongside knowledgeable staff conducting a variety of educational programs, research projects, and conservation activities.
NECWA Mission Statement:
The New England Coastal Wildlife Alliance (www.necwa.org) is a non-profit organization based in southeastern MA and dedicated to protecting and conserving the unique coastal marine wildlife off the New England coast. NECWA is comprised of biologists, students, and professionals working within the community who care about coastal marine wildlife and the ecosystem upon which it depends. NECWA staff and interns work on a volunteer basis allowing the majority of raised and donated funds coming into the organization to support the many projects and activities.
NECWA research activities are used to advance the understanding of coastal marine wildlife as well as support conservation efforts in this area. This information forms the basis of our educational outreach activities within the New England community.
Intern Responsibilities and Activities:
Internship positions are typically 3 months in duration and require a 20-hour a week commitment to the program. Internships can start at any time, but typically they run in seasonal blocks – spring, summer, fall and winter.
