Doug Sandilands is a member of the Center for Coastal Studies Marine Animal Entanglement
Response team.

In 2005 Doug coordinated a whale disentanglement training workshop at the Vancouver
Aquarium's Cetacean Research Lab.  The class, which was presented by a member of
 the Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies' Marine Animal Entanglement Response
team, introduced the West coast  researchers to the innovative approaches to large
whale disentanglement that were devised here at CCS.
Doug will discuss how this training sparked marine animal entanglement response 
initiatives in British Columbia and other parts of the world.
