Does your school have the challenge of adding Technology to their math and
science curriculum? Have you ever attended a Science on a Sphere® presentation
at the Ocean Explorium and wish you could display the data sets in your
classroom? Or thought, “I would like to have my students use real data to
answer real questions.” If you answered “yes”, then come join us at the
Ocean Explorium for a 10 hour Science/Math PDP workshop. In this workshop,
we will focus on building students’ abilities to formulate research
questions and interpret authentic data, essential skills for meeting
secondary level science and math standards. You will use the Science on a
Sphere® exhibit to explore data from NASA Earth Observations (NEO), learn
how to scaffold student learning with satellite data, and explore how to
use the technology in Earth, Life, or Physical Science classes. Teachers
can use these PDP’s for teacher recertification in Science or Math. Mentors
