Research Coordinator, Padilla Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve
The Padilla Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (PBNERR) on the Puget Sound in Skagit County, Washington is seeking a Research Coordinator (Natural Resource Scientist 3). This is a full-time permanent position with the Washington Department of Ecology and includes a full state benefits package.
This position will serve as the lead estuarine scientist, leading and directing the work of research and monitoring staff, interns and assistants, and representing the scientific programs of the PBNERR in local, regional, national and international forums. Reporting to the PBNERR Director, he/she will work collaboratively with all staff and oversee the System Wide Monitoring Program and other federal science mandates. The work involves developing, conducting and managing projects and programs designed to characterize conditions in estuaries and coastal watersheds, testing scientific hypotheses, and differentiating the effect of human activities from natural variations.
