Let your creativity take flight with this new course offered by Mass Audubon's Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary:
Field Sketching for Birders
April 26-27, 2014
Designed for birders or nature lovers with little or moderate experience with drawing, this weekend course will explore the basic techniques of drawing and sketching with pencil, pen and colored pencils, noting details and adding color. Observing live birds at the feeder and using mounted specimens, our discussions and sketches will focus on bird anatomy, silhouettes and proportions. Students will leave with a better understanding of the basic shapes and poses of birds in the field and how to capture good details for their drawings in what are often brief moments of observation.
This course is led by Mary Richmond, local artist, writer and naturalist.
Only 2 spaces left so sign up soon! Advance registration is required.
Cost is $200 for members of Mass Audubon and $240 for non-members. Housing on the sanctuary for Saturday night is also available at $30 per night, per person.
