Mass Audubon's Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary
invites you to celebrate fall
Bat Tracking
Thursday, October 10, 7 - 9 p.m.
Come hear about these mysterious and misunderstood denizens of the dark. Science coordinator Mark Faherty will dispel common bat myths, talk about the species we have on the Cape, summarize the bat research he's done at the sanctuary, and provide the latest info on the frightening population declines caused by white nose syndrome. Weather permitting, we'll set up our bat detector and hopefully record and identify some bats right here on the property.
Admission: $9 member/$11 non-member
Fish Printing
Saturday, October 12, 2 - 3 p.m.
Paint a fish with a beautiful array of colors, then create a print on Japanese rice paper or a t-shirt to take home. It's the perfect keepsake of your time on Cape Cod, and a great way to learn the ancient Japanese art of gyotaku! Art paper is provided; Wild Wild Wellfleet t-shirts are available for an additional fee or you may bring your own. The paint we use for the t-shirt prints is machine-washable. You may drop-in for fish printing anytime during the first 45 minutes of the time period. This program is very popular, so we strongly recommend registering ahead of time. The naturalist will assist guests with their prints in the order in which they arrive.
Admission: $7 per print, great for adults and families alike
Magnificent Mushroom Walk
Sunday, October 13, 1 - 3 p.m.
Join Wesley Price of the Boston Mycological Society for a sanctuary walk to discover the variety of fungi found on Cape Cod. An identification and Q&A period will follow! Important: The focus of this walk is not on edibles and mushroom collection on sanctuary property is prohibited.
Admission: $9 member/$11 non-member
You may register by calling us at 508.349.2615, or by signing up online at www.massaudubon.org/wellfleetbay<http://www.massaudubon.org/wellfleetbay>
