[SEMCO] Beebe Woods Nature Walk Tuesday May 28

NATURE  WALK  IN  BEEBE  WOODS,  FALMOUTH

              TUESDAY  MAY  28  AT  10:30  AM.

Nature Walk in Beebe Woods Tuesday May 28 at 10:30 am will introduce  
participants to the natural plants growing along the trails in Beebe  
Woods in Falmouth.

The walk begins at Highfield Hall, discusses the planting of Beech  
trees around the old summer "cottage" then enters Beebe Woods on a  
walk among mostly native plants and trees to the Punch Bowl kettle  
pond.   Pink Lady's Slippers are abundant this week, the highlight of  
today's walk.  All plants will be named and discussed, as will the  
terrain on the glacial moraine in Falmouth and the glacial effects on  
the present town of Falmouth.

Participants may circle the pond if they wish.  The walk is led by  
Alison Robb of Nature's Circle, it takes two hours or less, and a  
donation of $5. to Highfield Hall is suggested.  The walk is mostly  
on level ground.
