*Learn from a woman who has been successful in** ENGINEERING!

March 6 - Kim Francis, *Director of Engineering, Acushnet Company

Ms. Francis will share with our audience what first attracted her to the
field of Engineering, what academic and professional obstacles she had to
overcome, and what challenges she faces in her current position.

Ms. Francis earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from
M.I.T., a Master's in Science in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech,
and obtained a Professional Development Certificate in Business from
Simmons College.  Ms. Francis manages 16 engineers or technicians and,
indirectly, 56 manufacturing employees in a plant that produces over
325,000 golf balls per day in over 15 different process steps.   Among the
issues she deals with daily are safety, equipment performance, and product
quality.  In her spare time, Ms. Francis volunteers with Our Sisters'
School.

Students and families are welcome to join and learn from a woman who can
provide some guidance as to how we can all be successful in the STEM
fields.  Students will receive a button as proof of attendance.
