On Sunday, June 30 at 1 pm the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History will present Stephanie Ellis, Executive Director of WILD CARE, who will speak on the critical role of WILD CARE in rescuing, rehabilitating and releasing back into the wild Cape Cod’s injured and orphaned wildlife.
This program is free with Museum admission.
Each year WILD CARE treats on average some 800-1400 birds, reptiles and small mammals rescued from situations that prevent them from survival in the wild…whether broken bones or shells from road accidents, poison, illness or abandonment. According to WILD CARE documentation, 35% to 50% are admitted due to injuries and problems caused directly by humans. They range from pollution and habitat loss to ignorance and carelessness.
Stephanie Ellis will illustrate how WILD CARE’s philosophy and medical expertise serve each rescued animal that arrives at the emergency clinic and how you can provide appropriate and valuable help for infant and adult songbirds, seabirds, turtles, squirrels, rabbits and opossums in distress.
Join us for this highly informative program that will also provide you with the skills to assist in saving our injured Cape Cod wildlife.
