Dear Friends,

Taking a stay-cation? Need to get out? Join us for three wild programs next week!

Otters and Owls!

[Great Horned.jpg]

Thursday, February 15th, 4:30 pm - 6 pm

Check out our newest Sanctuary - Barnstable Great Marsh - to search for these secretive creatures of wetland and woodland! Male and female Great Horned Owls are hooting to each other during their mid-winter mating season and seeking abandoned nests to take over. Otters are feeding and frolicking in the ponds, leaving evidence of slides and scaly leftovers. Who knows what other winter wonders we may discover?

Whalewatching in February?

Wednesday, February 15th, 1 pm - 2:30 pm

We will take a virtual whalewatch with Jon Brink. We'll learn about the jet-powered boat, Whale Watcher and explore the ecology of Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary. Then we'll meet some of the whale species we encounter and have a whale of a time doing it!

The Snake Whisperer - Live!

[Milk Snake.jpg]

Friday, February 22nd, 1 pm - 2:30 pm

OK, this isn't Harry Potter, but Reptile expert Joe Martinez of the Harvard Museum of Comparative Zoology will visit Long Pasture to share several snakes for people of all ages to hold, touch or just check out. He will bring physical examples of snake bones, skulls, teeth, and skin and present some natural history about these creatures so often misunderstood.

Programs are $6 for members and $8 for non-members
$4 and $6 for kids!
