On Saturday, March 2 at 2 pm the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History will
present Truro author J.J. Dutra speaking on her new book Nautical Twilight -
The Story of a Cape Cod Fishing Family. $5/Member $7/Non-Member

J.J.Dutra, wife of a Cape Cod fisherman, has written a memoir of a time when
men caught fish from the sixty boats that called Provincetown MA home, a
time before the change in government policy when fishermen were encouraged
to fish, and a time where fishing supported hundreds of shore side
businesses and thousands of families.

Take a nautical journey from Provincetown Harbor to Cape Cod Bay, Nantucket
Sound and the Atlantic Ocean while living aboard a boat that has been
continually fishing since 1927.

Ms. Dutra's presentation will bring to life what it means to be part of a
fishing family as they fight to continue in a traditional family fishing
business fraught with federal regulations that destroyed many of the local
businesses. Their story sheds light on the question: Where have all the
fishing boats gone?
