* Sustainability in Polynesian Island Cultures and Ecosystems (SPICE)*
SEA Semester takes
college<http://www.sea.edu/sea_news/fall_lecture_series#> students
to the South Pacific on an adventure with a purpose. On five islands,
from low-lying atolls to high volcanic isles, students look at the
relationship between people and their environments; and from the deck of
the Robert C. Seamans study the ocean that binds them
together. Incorporating cultural and historical data, the SPICE program is
documented in an on-line Atlas of Polynesia that is rapidly becoming an
important resource for a wider audience.
Find gifts at SEA's holiday store too - all for a good cause! Mary is
donating 20% of the sales of her books to the SEA Scholarship Fund. Two
new releases are featured: *The Wonder Chamber,* the final book in the
Lizzie Manning Mystery Series, and *A Most Remarkable Enterprise: Lectures
on the Northwest Trade by Captain William Sturgis.*
