Marine Animal Discovery Center Open
April 13-20, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Spring Splash Open House!
Saturday, April 13, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Join us for our April Open House! Explore the Discovery Center, make a
marine animal craft project, enjoy games and refreshments, tour our new
marine animal hospital and view our four sea turtle patients. Education
programs during Open House are FREE with Admission.
Cost: $5/person; Members FREE.
Daily EDUCATION Schedule
Saturday, April 13 - Saturday, April 20
11:00 a.m. ~ Little Flippers Club: Join us for a marine animal-themed story
time and craft project! Different themes every day (see right). All ages
welcome; best suited for children ages 3-8. Children must be supervised.
Program lasts 45-60 minutes.
Cost: Members $3/child/program; Non-members $5/child/program.
12:00 p.m. ~ Patient Update: Learn more about the patients currently in our
care. Please note that, for the safety of our patients and our guests, this
program does not include direct viewing of our marine animal patients.
Program lasts approximately 15-20 minutes. FREE.
1:00 p.m. ~ Marine Animal Medical Mystery: What does it take to be a marine
animal care technician? What are some of the questions and "mysteries"
involved in wildlife rehabilitation? Each day we'll learn how to care for a
different animal. Best suited for ages 8-14. Space is limited to 15
children. Program lasts approximately 60 minutes. Please reserve your spot
by calling (508) 743-9888 at least 24 hours in advance.
Cost: Members $3/child/program; Non-members $5/child/program.
2:00 p.m. ~ Patient Update: Learn more about the patients currently in our
care. Please note that, for the safety of our patients and our guests, this
program does not include direct viewing of our marine animal patients.
Program lasts approximately 15-20 minutes. FREE.
3:00 p.m. ~ Marine Animal Exploration: Learn more about your favorite
marine animal! Who are they? Where do they live? What do they like to
eat? Through slides, specimen exploration and hands-on activities, you'll
explore the undersea world of animals! Program lasts 45-60 minutes. Space
is limited to 20 participants. Best suited for ages 7 and up. Please
reserve your spot by calling (508) 743-9888 at least 24 hours in advance.
Cost: Members $3/child/program; Non-members $5/child/program.
4:00 p.m. ~ Patient Update: Learn more about the patients currently in our
care. Please note that, for the safety of our patients and our guests, this
program does not include direct viewing of our marine animal patients.
