Mass Audubon's Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary invites you to

Autumnal Astronomy
Saturday, September 15, 7 - 10 p.m.
Autumn nights are often dark and clear, with the glorious Milky Way arching overhead and the entire astronomical "zoo" - star-birthing gas clouds, glittering clusters, and remote galaxies - available to inspection with small telescopes or even binoculars. That is, if you know where to look! In this three-hour workshop with Emmanuel College Astronomy lecturer Joshua Roth, we'll practice identifying constellations with star maps and planispheres and we'll look at star clusters, nebulas, and the Andromeda Galaxy with the aid of easy-to-use telescopes. We'll take a slide-show tour of the universe and learn about using and choosing binoculars and telescopes for backyard stargazing.
