What is Great and White and Hunts in the Marsh?

[Herons]
The Great Blue Heron, famous for its S-shaped neck in flight, strikes its
prey like lightning at the water's edge. The Great White Egret is actually
a heron! Dr. Katharine Parsons, Director of Mass Audubon's Coastal Waterbird
Program, will discuss conservation of herons and egrets in Massachusetts
and explore factors that have led to declines or increases in
species of these spectacular, long-legged wading birds.




Programs are $6 for members and $8 for non-members/ $4 and $6 for children

Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary is located on the north side of Rt 6a in Barnstable.  Trails are open daily dawn to dusk.  Sanctuary admission is free for members; $4 adults, $3 children for non-members. Call (508) 362-7475 for information.
