Subject: Estuary Restoration Act Funding Opportunity / Submit Applications
by Feb. 12. 2013
------------------------------
On behalf of the Estuary Habitat Restoration Council (Council), the U.S.
Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is soliciting proposals for estuary habitat
restoration projects. Eligible projects must provide ecosystem benefits,
have scientific merit, be technically feasible, be able to adapt to the
impacts associated with climate change, and be cost-effective. Projects
selected for EHRP funding will be implemented through either a cost-share
agreement with USACE or a cooperative agreement with USACE. All grant
awards are subject to availability of funds. The Council anticipates up to
$3.5 million may be available for estuarine habitat restoration; awards are
limited to a range between $200,000 and $1 million. The full description
and required forms will be available on http://www.grants.gov starting
December 12 and closing on February 12, 2013. The opportunity number is
USACE-EHR-001. We expect it will be August prior to any agreements are
signed. Applicants are strongly encouraged to discuss potential projects in
some detail with the local Corps district staff well before the application
deadline. Electronic applications submitted on Grants.gov are preferred but
hard copy mailed proposals will be accepted assuming they arrive within the
window specified in the announcement.
