You're Invited!
Tuesday, August 28, 5:30 p.m.
"Meet the Fleet"
a monthly seminar in the Barn at the Hook offices
Do you love watching the fishing boats come in and out of the harbors? Have you
ever wanted to strike up a conversation with fishermen to learn more about how they
make a living on the water? Do you know how your favorite seafood is caught and
what rules the fishermen have to follow to bring it to market?
If you are curious about any of these, then please join the Cape Cod Commercial
Hook Fishermen's Association and local fishermen to learn the ins and outs of this
vital industry and how important it is to our cultural heritage and local economy.
Follow our conversations about these topics on Facebook!

August's Talk is...
A Clam by Any Other Name
Some call 'em steamers, others call them soft shell clams; did you know they were
fryers? Whatever you call them, however you down 'em, they are good eating! Chatham
boasts an amazing amount of soft shell clams which are being harvested in the wild
on the tidal flats. Come meet local shellfisherman Jamie Bassett and others, and
they'll give you the scoop about harvesting Chatham's soft shells...and cooking
tips, too. Join us after the event for a mess o' steamers and beer.
Please RSVP IN ADVANCE to info at ccchfa.org or 508-945-2432 x107 to ensure your spot.
Free for CCCHFA members; $10.00 for others. Complimentary snacks and beverages
included.
Shellfisherman Jamie Bassett will speak about digging steamers.
This series of seminars and cooking demonstrations will continue on the last Tuesday
of each month. Stay tuned for bluefin tuna on Tuesday, September 25.
