    Mediterranean Sea with Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution!

    Join Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution scientists November 28
    through December 9 for a research cruise to explore extreme habitats
    in the Mediterranean Sea, on the new Dive and Discover
    <http://www.divediscover.whoi.edu> online expedition!Microbial
    ecologist Ginny Edgcomb and geobiologist Joan Bernhard will travel
    aboard the R/V /Atlantis/ to investigate the Mediterranean's deep
    brine lakes---super-salty dense water pools more than two miles
    deep---to discover whether organisms can live in these toxic,
    oxygen-free environments. Follow along, read the background
    information and daily dispatches, ask questions of the scientists,
    and try the classroom activities!
