[SEMCO] Wellfleet Harbor Conference this weekend

9th Annual State of Wellfleet Harbor Conference
November 5, 2011
Held at Wellfleet Elementary School
The goal of this FREE conference is to distribute information about
current and ongoing research, monitoring projects, and issues related to
Wellfleet Harbor and its watershed. Both oral and poster presentations
are featured. Subjects focused on in this year's conference include:
* Models of Mayo Creek and Herring River restorations
* Insights into common eider mortality
* Details on red tide in the region
* Contaminants of concern in private wells
* Scientific value of marine sanctuaries
* Results of breeding bird censuses on Cape Cod
A free continental breakfast is provided, donated by many generous
vendors and local businesses including Box Lunch Wellfleet, Dunkin'
Donuts, Mac's Seafood, Wellfleet Marketplace, and The Wicked Oyster.
Funding for the 9th Annual State of Wellfleet Harbor Conference is
provided by Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank, Friends of Herring River,
Mass Audubon, Mid-Cape Home Centers, Town of Wellfleet, and Wellfleet
Conservation Trust.
