_German artist Anselm Kiefer creates paintings with unconventional materials
which have their root in the tradition of alchemy. Using lead, straw, dirt,
and buckets of paint he evokes spiritual and metaphysical realms. Working to
transform the mundane into something transcendent, Kiefer finds a
relationship between art-making and alchemy.

Claudine Metrick holds an MFA in Painting from the University of
Massachusetts Dartmouth. She is a professional artist with a studio in the
Boston Metro Area. Painter Anselm Kiefer has long been the basis for her own
exploration in the studio.

_Exhibition Dates: June 11th - June 26th_

The Guyer Art Barn is now accepting submissions to their first juried art
exhibit, _Drawing Upon Nature.  _

ABOUT THE SHOW: _Drawing Upon Nature_ is an exhibition showing explorations
of both representational and abstract depictions of Nature. We are looking
for works of Contemporary character; works that show extreme investigation
of the natural world in micro and macro examples, and also work that
demonstrates creative and innovative uses of the drawing medium. This is not
limited to dry drawing medium; we are looking for wet media drawings,
imaginative uses of both drawing and painting, and open to all media
including 3-dimensional works.

_All work to be considered for exhibition must be delivered:_
_Saturday May 28th, between 12-4, Sunday May 29^th, Between 12-4, or Tuesday
May 31^st Between 5-8pm._
