February Break volunteer opportunity for February 24th, 2011:

Outdoor Invasive Species removal with AmeriCorps Cape Cod and Orleans
Conservation Trust

Next Thursday, February 24th, 2011, AmeriCorps Cape Cod (ACC) invites
interested community volunteers to come out and volunteer with ACC and
the Orleans Conservation Trust. The service day will consist of removing
invasive species alongside AmeriCorps Cape Cod members using hand tools
and doing a controlled burn. There is a state-certified vernal pool on
the site that is surrounded by encroaching bittersweet that needs to be
removed to ensure the health and success of the biodiversity. The site
is located at the Euid Property on 25 Fox Ridge Road in Orleans.
Service will begin at 10:00AM and continue till 1:00PM; if interested
please meet us at the site.

This is a perfect opportunity for children on February vacation to be
outside and serve their community! *Please note that children must be
accompanied by a parent or adult. Be sure to dress for appropriately for
the weather, and bring your own water and work gloves if possible,
although both water and gloves will be available for all volunteers. We
look forward to seeing you there!

Please contact Rebecca Wolfson with questions at
rwolfson at barnstablecounty.org or call (508) 375-6869.
