Snakes of Cape Cod and Beyond
featuring live snakes
This summer, the Harry Potter movie inspired fear of snakes with
Voldemort's evil sidekick, Nagini, a ruthless killer. Luckily, Scientist
Joe Martinez of Harvard's Museum of Comparative Zoology will be at Long
Pasture to rescue the image of snakes and reveal their fascinating
adaptations and role in our ecosystems. Find out how Cape Cod snakes fit
in with the larger worldwide families of snakes and learn some snake
handling along the way!

In The Still Of The Night: Barred Owls
Saturday, August 13th, 2011 at 7:00 pm
Their call is often translated as "Who cooks for you? Who cooks for you
all," yet only these dark-eyed bards of the night know the true meaning.
Large - headed Barred Owls are silent in flight as they pounce on their
prey and are thought to mate for life. Learn more at a presentation and
then watch as one of these mesmerizing creatures, which has been
rehabilitated at the Cape Wildlife Center, return to the night.
