Exploring Wild Edibles and Medicinal Plants

Ethnobotanist Sharon Ackland will reveal the secrets of Cape Cod's wild
edibles. During her talk, she will share clues to identification,
nutritional and therapeutic uses and recipes. On the walk, she will
discuss native Cape Cod plants growing along the sanctuary paths, how
Native Americans used them, and how we can easily turn them into
delicious (and free!) foods and healing remedies. She'll also show some
finished recipes made with local plants, such as Rosa rugosa skin
lotion, Feverfew tincture for migraines, Elderberry syrup for colds and
flu and more!
