Why Cape Cod has the most interesting Weather on Earth
A discussion with Tim Kelley, NECN's Meteorologist
followed by their meeting
Tim Kelley, Meteorologist, grew up in Dennis, he enjoys a passionate life
long interest in nature, especially here on Cape Cod. His earliest memories
are of fearing thunderstorms and the moon. He also recalls a fascination for
flying like a bird. In fact, Tim says he once believed he could fly like a
bird. Grounded by failed attempts, he now settles for describing the nature
of air and water on TV. This is Tim's 23rd year as a Television
Meteorologist. He has been at New England Cable News, NECN, since 1992.
Science was Tim's favorite subject at school. He remembers Mr. Melnick's
class at Wixon School. Every assignment turned into a challenge for Tim to
understand the history of Cape Cod geology and weather. Field Trips to the
Cape Cod Museum of Natural History were his favorite school days. In class,
he did many experiments and reports on the Glacial History of the Cape, and
how storms continue to shape Cape Cod. He will discuss The Cape's Formation
and Natural Evolution. Tim also says that CO2 is a minor player in Climate
Change, and will speak on why we should not fear Global Warming.
