Bird Ornament Workshop 

Saturday, October 16th, 9 - 3

Begin a new tradition! Carve and paint a smooth bird ornament (you can
choose from several species). Bird Carver Roger Jenks will lead you
through the process from simple form to finished creation - a wonderful
decoration or holiday gift. Price includes materials and instruction
with a carving knife for future projects.
$40 members/45 nm

 

An Introduction To Digital Nature Photography

 

Sunday, October 17th,  9 - 3
Join naturalist and photographer Bob Speare for a fall day at Long
Pasture learning about camera settings and photographic techniques for
beautiful natural images. We'll spend some time indoors and also use the
backdrop of the sanctuary as we discuss topics including macro,
landscape, white balance, exposure, focus, and depth of field. We'll
practice using some key field techniques to build stronger composition
and balance. All levels of photography experience are welcome. Please
have a basic understanding of your camera and bring extra batteries or a
charger as we'll be shooting throughout the day.
$55 members/$60 nm

Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary is located on the north side of Rt 6a in
Barnstable.  Trails are open daily dawn to dusk.  Sanctuary admission is
free for members; $4 adults, $3 children for non-members. Call (508)
