Friends of CCMNH monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at
1:00pm, followed by the program, 

A New Look for CCMNH Lobby

A discussion with Weston Emmart

at 1:30pm

 

Weston Emmart's talk will demonstrate changes to be made for the Museum
lobby and the meeting room next to it in the year 2011.  He has designed the
exhibit with a three-dimensional model to show content of exhibits as well
as construction.  Mr. Emmart will have a slide show of closeups to accompany
the model and his talk.

 

Mr. Emmart studied at Pratt Institute on the G.I. Bill. He freelanced in
book illustration, architectural rendering, TV film production, set
designing and print advertising. Others discovered his natural flair for
cartooning, combining caricature and realism, and he soon found himself
creating storyboards for commercials on Madison Avenue. Ogilvy & Mather
Advertising, a major firm, kept him running their Art Department for 26
years.  We at CCMNH know him also for his beautiful carvings of Carousel
horses and rocking horses.
