REDUCE THE USE OF PESTICIDES
Sue Phelan of GreenCAPE will speak about opportunities to encourage organic
gardening on Cape Cod, on Wednesday night, May 19th, starting at 7:00
pm. This program will take place at the Unitarian Universalist church in
Falmouth, at 840 Sandwich Road, in East Falmouth.
The May 19th program is free and open to the public. The church is
easily accessible for people with disabilities. For additional information,
please call the church office. Phone: 508-457-0449.
Information will be available about the community garden at the Falmouth
Service Center. This is one of the oldest, largest, and most successful
of the organic community gardens on Cape Cod..... Information on organic
vegetable gardening in Bourne will be presented by Barbara Fitzmaurice.
By encouraging organic gardening, local environmentalists hope to reduce
the toxic runoff that causes environmental problems in coastal areas.
Local food production can be encouraged.
