Hit and Run History
The 2nd episode of the Columbia Expedition is being premiered across S.E. Mass. Host Andrew Buckley and his crew filmed their exploits following Cape Cod's John Kendrick and the first American voyage round the world. The Columbia's first stop out of Boston was the Cape Verde Islands, 300 miles west of the Sahara. Buckley is the foremost authority on the Columbia Expedition. He has been on the trail of this story since 1995, beginning research for his novel The Bostoner. "This is new history," says Buckley "...The Columbia Expedition had such a profound and lasting effect on American and world history. Without it there would have been no Lewis and Clark - no sea to shining sea."
