What's all the buzz about? 
Bees and Butterflies!

 
Why are these people dressed so strangely in 90 degree weather? They are
installing Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary's new outdoor Honey Bee
Observation Hive. We are pleased to announce that the workers have
accepted their new Queen and begun the bee business of raising little
larvae, collecting nectar and storing honey. The male bees, the drones,
are doing absolutely nothing to help. Join us as we welcome exhibit
designer and hive expert, Bob, our very talented bee man, for a brief
lecture, hive tour and equipment show and tell. Then continue on for a
guided walk through our new Butterfly Mosaic Trail! 28t

Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary is located on the north side of Rt 6a in
Barnstable.  Trails are open daily dawn to dusk.  Sanctuary admission is
free for members; $4 adults, $3 children for non-members. Call (508)
