Energy Co-ops: Structure and Benefits

Please join us on Friday, January 22, 1:00 - 2:15 pm for the third in a series of webinars covering timely energy issues for communities in Massachusetts.  This webinar will examine energy cooperatives, how they work, and how communities and residents can use these entities to save money.  Three examples of energy cooperatives will be presented: the Cape and Vineyard Electric Cooperative, Vineyard Power which is associated with the Vineyard Energy Project, and the Fox Island Institute Wind Project in Maine.  Questions such as how are energy cooperatives structured and sustained, are they economically viable initiatives, and what risks if any do they pose to members will be addressed.  This webinar will provide very useful information to communities considering ways to tap into renewable energy resources and lower energy costs.
