Summer Science Teachers Wanted

*        WBNERR is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic educator to co-direct our six week Summer Science School from July 5th through August 13th.
*         Work with children in grades 2 through 8, conducting lessons and activities in the classroom, woodlands, salt marshes and shoreline within the Reserve.
*        Monday through Friday schedule includes several weeks of half-day sessions and one overnight camping trip to Washburn Island. There will be one week for training and planning at the end of June.
*        Must be knowledgeable about coastal ecology and comfortable working in the field handling marine invertebrates. Interest and knowledge of renewable energy helpful.  ( Approx. $475/week)

*        Unique week-long teaching opportunity July 19th to 23rd.
Science educator wanted to facilitate a group of middle school students conducting bio-monitoring on local beaches and assisting with a variety of research and stewardship projects throughout the Reserve. This program is part of a regional project involving institutions throughout New England. You will work cooperatively with a scientist who has expertise in identification and monitoring protocols throughout the week.  The time commitment includes attending 2 days of training off-cape on June 3rd and 4th, training at Waquoit Bay Reserve June 22-24 (negotiable) as well as a one-day regional summit in Boston this fall.  ($1400 for program)
