The Boston Sea Rovers announce their annual Career Opportunities in the
Marine Sciences (COMS) Oceans Conference program for secondary school
students and teachers grades 6-12.
Join us for a dynamic series of programs about the world's oceans and
possible careers in the marine sciences.
When: 9:30am-12:30pm Friday, March 12, 2010
Where: The Rabb Lecture Hall in our new venue the historic Boston Public
Library in Copley Square, Boston (directly off the MBTA Green line).
A grant from the Boston Sea Rovers provides free admission for secondary
school students, their teachers, and chaperone's.
Conference presentations include the following:
Marine biotechnology:
"Saving sea life to save lives" -from horseshoe crabs and sponges to
poisonous cone snails
Charismatic mega fauna:
"Great White Sharks of New England" - the work of a marine fisheries
biologist
Ocean engineering:
" Marine science and technology" - working in the underwater realm
Marine biologists at work:
"Research at the New England Aquarium" -studying marine life of the
world's oceans
Boston Sea Rovers programs for students:
"Internships and Scholarships" - hear from our scholars about their work
As space is limited, applications must be accepted for reserved seating.
To do so please apply before February 24, 2010 by sending us a
paragraph describing why you and your students would benefit from our
program. Please also provide the following information:

We can hold your reservation for one week but need Field Trip Permission
and Transportation approvals before final approvals can be granted.
