2010 BIRDING CAPE COD WEEKEND

Sponsored by the Cape Cod Bird Club

The Cape Cod Bird Club is sponsoring a pelagic birding trip on Sunday,
September 26th from 8:30am to 3:00pm, as part of the annual Birding Cape
Cod Weekend. We will leave from Provincetown, MA and travel aboard a
comfortable and spacious Dolphin Fleet vessel for a 6-hour pelagic trip
to areas based on recent sightings and activity. Expert birders Blair
Nikula, Peter Trull, and Mark Faherty will be calling out the birds for
us.

The cost for this trip is $60.00 for CCBC members and $75.00 for
non-members. The trip is limited to 110 people. To reserve a space for
this trip send a signed waiver with a check payable to "Cape Cod Bird

Blair Nikula - "Birding the Bank: The Birds of Stellwagen Bank."

The first Cape Cod Bird Club meeting of the season will be on Monday
September 13, 2010 at 7:30pm at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History
in Brewster. In conjunction with the Cape Cod Bird Club's pelagic trip,
this program will describe the birdlife of Stellwagen Bank. Blair
Nikula, a native Cape Codder and past CCBC President, is a life-long
birder with over 40 years of birding experience on the Cape and a
special interest in seabirds. He will show us how to identify and
distinguish the seabirds we might expect to encounter on a pelagic trip,
and also talk to us about seasonal occurrence and at-sea biology.

The 5th Annual Birding Cape Cod Weekend will be held Friday, Saturday
and Sunday, September 24th, 25th & 26th. Members of the Cape Cod Bird
Club will lead walks to top birding areas throughout Cape Cod. More
information and the complete schedule of walks can be found at:
