The Children's School of Science in Woods Hole is looking for a
teacher for its Robotics/ROV class for this summer.
The class runs for two sequential 3-week sessions and we are looking
for teachers for one or both sessions. It is a ninety-minute class
from 8:30 to 10:00 for 13 to 15 year olds. Salary for the full six
weeks is $2,286.00. Session A starts June 25th and runs to July
17th. Session B is from July 20th to August 6th.
This is the course description (though course content is somewhat
flexible):
Robotics/ROV
Students will focus on the technical, economic, environmental and
social aspects of real-world marine engineering and electronics.
Frequent field trips and data analysis will be used to study
propulsion, and energy. Through project design, data analysis and
field exploration students will explore the physical principles behind
modern marine technology. Session A will focus on theory and design.
Session B will focus on construction of ROVs. Lab fee $30.00 per
session. While Session A is not a pre-requisite for Session B, class
placement preference for Session B will go to students who plan to
take both Sessions A and B in 2009.
