"TURTLE GARDENING"
FREE workshop on creating landscapes for nesting turtles.
Thursday, April 2, 1-4 p.m.
at the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary
Landscaping for wildlife takes on a whole new meaning when you consider
making properties attractive to nesting turtles. Using the threatened
diamondback terrapin as an example, this workshop will explore the value
of creating "turtle gardens"; highlight newly emerging criteria
developed by the State; discuss associated regulatory issues; and share
ideas for attractive design. Time will be reserved for questions.
Conservation commissioners, natural resource officers, and other
environmental professionals will find this particularly interesting and
helpful.
Presenters: Barbara Brennessel of Wheaton College, Seth Wilkinson of
Wilkinson Ecological Design; and Lori Erb of Mass Wildlife's Natural
Heritage & Endangered Species Program.
This program is free, but registration is requested. To register call
508-349-2615 or email wellfleet at massaudubon.org
