 Seal Walk!

When: Friday, October 10, 2 p.m.*
Where: Head of the Meadow Beach, Truro
(meet in parking lot to the left, CCNS)
With: Lisa Sette
                   Seal Research Program Director
Why: This summer, for the first time, a gray seal haul-out was
established on a new shoal just off the northern edge of Head of the
Meadow Beach. This is a great opportuntiy for visitors to the Cape Cod
National Seashore to observe seals in their natural environment!

*Please note this replaces the seal walk announced in Pelagic Almanac for
October 5.

Dear Friend of Center for Coastal Studies:

Please join Lisa Sette, our resident seal expert and marine mammal rescue
team member, for a quarter-mile walk next Friday afternoon to visit the
new gray seal colony off of Head of the Meadow Beach in Truro.

You will never get a better introduction to the world of pinnipeds or have
more fun doing it!

The weather is supposed to be clear and sunny, with a light northerly
breeze and temperatures in the upper 50's. Please wear comfortable shoes
and enough layers to stay warm.

Please PRE-REGISTER by e-mailing jeyoung at coastalstudies.org.
