Mass Audubon's Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary offers Cape Cod Field
Schools -- summer courses designed for adults.
New for 2008: "Island Hopping" July 15-17
During the 3 half-days, participants will explore the ecology, natural
history, and human history of Outer Cape Islands. Separated from the
mainland and surrounded by water, islands are alluring because of their
remote and unique nature. With naturalist Dennis Murley, participants
will explore the wilderness area of South Monomoy Island, canoe to
islands in Pleasant Bay, and hike Great Island in Wellfleet (a former
island) while learning about the biogeography of animals and plants that
inhabit the islands' beaches, tidal flats, woods, and surrounding
waters. Each day starts at 8 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m.
