To whom it may concern: I resent the use of the SEMO mailing list to promote this event. If it's not a political statement, then you will fooled me. Therefore, please delete my name from your mailing list. F. Bradley Stumcke Jr. sailfishdr at comcast.net

Subject: [SEMCO] ENVIRONMENT AND WAR: March 19th Vigil
PEACE VIGIL ON CAPE COD
The Sierra Club's Cape Cod and Islands Group has endorsed the Wednesday, March 19th, peace vigil in Falmouth.... The vigil will start at 5:30 pm, on the main village green....
The village green is between Saint Barnabas Church and the Congregational Church.
This is the 5th year for the Falmouth vigil on March 19th. It's not a political rally or a sectarian event. It doesn't endorse a special agenda, a political party, or a set of candidates.... The American military occupation of Iraq has now been in progress for five years. This is one of the longest military actions in American history.
Why should environmentalists be concerned?
Energy prices are rising. Population pressures are increasing. The world is entering a new period of "energy wars" and a new era of competition and destruction in the environment. In the Middle East and in other parts of the world, nations are fighting with each other to control petroleum supplies, agricultural lands, water supples, and other natural resources.
The Falmouth vigil on March 19th is an annual vigil to remember the suffering that has occured in the Middle East during the past twelve months. This year, the local Sierra Club has decided that it's appropriate for the Sierra Club to participate in a peace vigil.
Everybody is invited. Please leave political signs and noisemakers at home. This is a time for quiet reflection. Several religious organizations are working together in support of peace vigil activities. For information, contact the Unitarian Universalist church offices in Falmouth. Telephone: (508) 457-0449.
