"The Loss of Common Bird Species and Their Habitats"
By Wayne Petersen, Mass Audubon, Director of Important Bird Areas
Program

Wednesday, July 30, 7:30 p.m.

American kestrel, eastern meadowlark, and eastern towhee, once
considered common in the New England landscape, are now declining
species. And they are not alone. There are other bird species also
experiencing dwindling populations. Mass Audubon's, Wayne Petersen, will
discuss the trends, threats to bird populations, and the importance of
protecting habitat. He will also emphasize the Important Bird Areas
program of which he is the Director.

Fee: $9 NM/ $7 Mass Audubon member.  Advance registration is not
required.
