*FRIENDS OF HERRING RIVER SUPPORT GROUP FORMED*
The Friends of the Herring River, a new non-profit group, announced its 
formation at the Fifth Annual Harbor Conference held in Wellfleet in 
November.

Application is in process for formal recognition as a 501(c)(3) 
non-profit entity and it is expected that such recognition will take 
place in early 2009. Dedicated to restoring the ecological integrity of 
Wellfleet and Truro’s Herring River 1100 acre watershed, the 
organization will serve as an information source on estuarine 
restoration, encourage and coordinate volunteers, and provide fund
