POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT  Cape Cod Cranberry Growers' Association


The Cape Cod Cranberry Growers' Association is one of the leading
agricultural trade organizations in the state. Founded in 1888 the
Association's mission was "to promote the interest of its members in
whatever pertains to the growth, cultivation and sale of cranberries."



CCCGA works to promote the cranberry industry through active grower
volunteer committees in Public Relations and Promotions, Government Affairs,
Research, Environmental Affairs, Frost Prediction and Water Resources. More

Title:                            Communications Manager



Available:                    Immediately



Closing Date:               October 1, 2007





Duties and Responsibilities:

            Responsible to effectively communicate to members CCCGA
activities, through brochures, newsletters and advisories.  Assist
committees in the planning of meetings and activities such as Winter Meeting
and Environmental Workshops and the Cranberry Harvest Celebration.  Respond
to general public inquires on cranberry cultivation, including harvest
tours, PowerPoint presentations; call in service and electronic
communication. Plans and directs “neighbor to neighbor” relations programs
for growers. Coordinate membership development and renewal process. Assist
Cranberry Research Foundation with implementation of fund raising events
such as organizing golf tournament and raffles.



Qualifications:

            Applicants must have a Bachelor's Degree in agriculture, Ag.
Economics, environmental science or communication, and a minimum of 2 years
experience preferably in agriculture or a related field.  Demonstrated
written and oral communications skills.  Experience with public speaking and
conducting meetings helpful. Strong interpersonal skills.  Strong Windows
based computer skills. Knowledge of Desktop Publishing and web site
maintenance skills helpful. Ability to organize and prioritize workload
(event planning). Independent project management experience.
