Congratulations to Albert Gore for receiving the Nobel Peace Prize!
In Falmouth, Massachusetts, three events are planned that are relevant.
NOVEMBER 3rd (Saturday): Individuals concerned about global warming and
related issues will meet at the Unitarian Universalist church in Falmouth, at
7:00 pm.... This meeting is sponsored by the Sierra Club as part of Falmouth's
Step-it-Up program.... The movie "Out of Balance: Exxon Mobil's Impact on
Climate Change" will be shown..... Information about energy and
environmental justice programs on Cape Cod will be available.
If you're concerned about global warming's impact on Cape Cod - and if
you're concerned about energy and human rights issues - come to this November
3rd meeting. Everybody is invited... The church is located at 840 Sandwich
Road in East Falmouth.... It's easily accessible for people with
disabilities.... For more information, call the church office.
TELEPHONE: (508) 457-0449.
DECEMBER 9th (Sunday): The annual Human Rights Day service will be held at
the Unitarian Universalist church in Falmouth.... Every year, this service
gives special attention to the individuals who have won the Nobel Peace
Prize.... So, this year, much attention will focus on Albert Gore and his
environmental protection and human rights activities.... Everybody is invited to
this annual interfaith gathering..... PHONE: (508) 457-0449.
JANUARY 1st (New Years Day): Circle the date! This is the annual Woods
Hole celebration of community and environmental protection.... Meet at 11:00
am at the Woods Hole Community Hall for a discussion about global warming
and related matters.... At noon, we'll have the traditional holiday walk
around Eel Pond and down to the ocean's edge to "toast the coast." This is a
popular Woods Hole event for families.
Several groups join together to make the Woods Hole celebration possible.
