Call for Conference Participation and Presentations

 

 

The Waterways Group of the Boston Society of Civil Engineers 
Section/ASCE and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) Sea Grant 
invites you to submit abstracts for presentations related to the 
conference theme "Coastal Engineering Manual in Practice".  The aim of 
the conference is to provide a forum for the presentation and discussion 
of practical applications and "lessons learned" regarding the USACE 
Coastal Engineering Manual. The anchor workshop will feature Steven 
Hughes, Ph.D., P.E. and Jeffrey Melby, Ph.D. of the U.S. Army Corps of 
Engineers Coastal Hydraulics Laboratory discussing Techniques for 
Analyzing Wave Processes at Coastal Inlets and Structures.  In addition, 
the Waterways Group/WHOI Sea Grant is seeking presenters for a technical 
session on the practical application of the CEM.  To propose a 
presentation, please send an abstract with your suggested topic idea and 
a list of participants.  If approved, you will be requested to attend 
and present at the conference.

 

Suggested abstract categories include: Risk & Reliability of Coastal 
Structures; Case Studies of Practical Implementation of CEM methods; and 
Life Cycle Analysis of Coastal Structures.

 

Deadlines

Abstracts Due:           June 29, 2007

Authors Notified:       July 27, 2007

Final Slides Due:        September 21, 2007
