PCCS Dedicates Marine Lab

(Provincetown, Cape Cod, MA) - The Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies
(PCCS) will dedicate the new Marine Lab on 5 Holway Avenue in honor of the
late Ruth Hiebert and her father, Dr. Daniel Hiebert, on June 21, 2007 at 10
a.m. with guest speaker Ian A. Bowles Secretary, Executive Office of Energy
and Environmental Affairs with appearances by state Sen. Robert O' Leary and
state Rep. Sarah Peake.

The Lab served as a Catholic school for St. Peter the Apostle Church from
1964 - 1985, and as an annex to Provincetown High School from 1985 to 2005.
Today the 11,300-square-foot Marine Lab houses the Center's science,
research and education staff, and includes an 850-square foot library on the
upper level, and a 1,500-square-foot conference area on the lower level;
both are available for public use.

PCCS incorporated green elements into the renovation of the building that
has achieved 85 - 90% of so-called "green" architectural standards. Tour
the new facility which has long been a part of Provincetown's cultural
landscape.

The public is encouraged to attend the free event, meet PCCS scientists and

research and view the Smithsonian/ National Oceanographic and Atmospheric
