Buzzards Bay, MA - Massachusetts Maritime Academy is pleased to announce the
launch of its Master of Science in Emergency Management Degree Program.
The goal of the program is to provide graduates with the knowledge and tools
to be successful emergency managers in the public and private sectors of the
Northeast region. The program's graduates will gain the problem-solving
capabilities to prepare for, respond to, recover from, and mitigate
disasters and emergencies. The program provides a multi-disciplinary
approach requiring a core set of courses needed to address issues common to
virtually all hazards, and other courses addressing special topics including
public health and transportation security.
Massachusetts Maritime Academy will host an information session on their two
Master of Science graduate programs on Wednesday, June 20, 2007. The
session will run from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the DoubleTree Guest Suites in
Waltham, MA. Space is limited and reservations can be made by calling
508-830-5019. Further information may also be found at
www.maritime.edu/graduate.
Massachusetts Maritime Academy's Graduate and Continuing Education Division
offers two unique graduate programs. The 18-month Master of Science in
Emergency Management provides a comprehensive all-hazards approach to
managing continuity of operations. The 16-month Master of Science in
Facilities Management provides students with the knowledge and skills
necessary to succeed in a variety of senior facilities management and
leadership positions.
Both programs begin in September and are offered on alternate weekends in
executive format. For the convenience of those living and working in the
Greater Boston area, classes are based in Waltham at the DoubleTree Guest
Suites. Classes will be held every other weekend beginning Friday evening
and ending Saturday afternoon.
Capitalizing on Massachusetts Maritime Academy's long tradition of
excellence and state-of-the-art technology, the graduate programs are
uniquely positioned to help managers focus their careers and achieve
professional growth.
