During the 2007 whale watching season, the Whale and Dolphin Conservation
Society (WDCS) worked with the Captain John and Son whale watching company
to develop a recycling program on board their vessels. Between April and
October, a total of 5,528 items of aluminum, glass and plastic were
recycled. The results of this project as well as a Teacher Handout and
Extension page are posted on our website http://wdcsgoesgreen.org. We hope
that teachers will find the information useful and a meaningful way to
introduce recycling and ocean conservation into their classrooms.
