Nantucket Soundkeeper and the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society present
the five-part lecture series, A Sea of Change: Survival of Marine Wildlife
in Today's Oceans - Impacts, Implications and Improvements, on the effects
of climate change on the ocean and local marine wildlife.

The free public presentations are being held on Wednesdays between July 18
and August 15 at 7:00p.m. at the Harwich Community Center, 100 Oak Street in
Harwich.

On August 8th, Sarah Herzig, stranding coordinator for the Cape Cod
Stranding Network, addresses the changes in seal populations on Cape Cod
over the past 30 years, including resident and transient seal populations,
as well as patterns in stranding frequency, seasonality, and location.

The final presentation in the series will be on August 15th with Charles
'Stormy' Mayo from the Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies speaking to
the critical role plankton plays in the ocean's food webs and how whales are
impacted by changes in the marine eco-system, especially to shifts in
plankton production at the bottom of the food web.
